We enjoyed our first pool day of the summer this morning and Cameron had a BLAST! He loved splashing and playing with Daddy in the water :) He even went in the big pool with Daddy and wasn't scared at all. I think we may have a little fish on our hands...haha :)

It is slowly taking over!
Cameron's new obsession: TOY STORY, or as he calls it "Woody the horse" aka Toy Story 2 and "Woody the hat" aka Toy Story 1.
It is quite the treat going to any store lately, as Toy Story has totally taken over EVERYTHING. When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Cereal, popcorn, the entire toy department, clothes, crackers, EVERYTHING.
I thinking a Toy Story birthday party is in the making....stay tuned!

Sweet Summertime....
Today is our first official day of "summer vacation." Cameron is all done with school and of course Mommy is all done with work. It was also the very first day that we (Mommy, Cameron, Owen, and Sadie) were home alone for the first time. We had a wonderful morning on the back deck splish, splashing in the pool. As you can see from the pictures, Cameron had a BLAST! He was ALL smiles, ALL morning :) Of course, his bestest pal Sadie was there beside him every step of the way :)
I'm sure we will have many more pool side pictures this summer...ENJOY! :)

Owen is becoming more alert and has extended periods of awake time each day. Even though when I say "awake time," I'm referring to about 30-45 minute stretches before he wants to eat and go back to sleep...but I'll take what I can get :) Today, I took advantage of his awake time to snap a few pictures of his adorable little face :) ENJOY!
For now, we have decided to keep both Cameron and Owen updates on this website. We MAY end up changing sites and will keep you posted if we decide to do that. My goal will be to give you AT LEAST a weekly update of our family of 4...along with pictures throughout the week. ENJOY!
Week One/Two:
Cameron: Welcomed Owen with open arms! He is doing so well with all the changes, better than I EVER thought he would. He loves to hold Owen, loves to help Mommy retrieve needed items, and tries his best to interact with Owen. Although he sometimes doesn't understand that at this point Owen cannot reciprocate the interactions :) One of Cameron's presents from Owen was the movie Toy Story....and boy does he love it. He has watched it at least once daily since we came home from the hospital. I'm thinking Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and all the other Toy Story characters may slowly take over our household....stay tuned!
Owen: Owen has been wonderful! He is such a sweet, laid back baby. His daily routine, like most newborns, consists of eating, sleeping, and dirty diapers. He is doing really good at night...waking about every 2 1/2 hours to eat. During the day, he has a little more "awake/alert" time each day. We go back to the doctor at the end of the week for his 2 week check-up and weight check....will keep you posted about what they say :)
Mommy&Daddy: We are all great...and loving our addition to the family. Daddy has been WONDERFUL with taking over household chores, Cameron's bathtime, and dinners while Mommy continues to heal from the c section. So far, Mommy's c section looks good and is showing NO SIGNS OF INFECTION!!! My pain/soreness is slowly going away. Keep you fingers crossed everything keeps going in that direction. I go back for a check-up next Friday, so the doctor can assess my incision one last time.
Ok, I will usually have this as 2 separate posts...but figured I would just put it together this morning. This week our weather has been wonderful in the afternoon, so we have taken advantage by playing outside after dinner until bathtime calls.
Owen seems so content outside, so I'm hoping he is an outdoors boy just like his brother. He didn't stay awake to enjoy the fun yesterday, but that didn't stop Mommy from snapping a few pictures :) I just love those little feet..and isn't he just adorable all kicked back and relaxed with his feet propped up :)
Cameron has really enjoyed riding his tricycle, Power Wheels Jeep, and playing catch with Daddy. Look at that smile! :)

The beginnings of a wonderful relationship.....
Cameron has adjusted perfectly to Owen coming home. He is such a wonderful helper and his face just lights up everytime he sees Owen. He is very interested in playing with and holding Owen...and it is just ADORABLE! I'm certain this is the beginning of a wonderful relationship...and I am loving every minute! :)
Checking things out as Owen wakes up from nap...
I just love the next 3 pictures. Cameron and Owen playing on Owen's playmat....sweetness with a capital S! :)
Finally, this picture is of Cameron the very first time he held Owen. It was 2 days after we came home from the hospital. Now, he wants to hold Owen several times a day...and it is this adorable everytime! :)

Birthday's
Honestly, I think it is still sinking in that we are a family of 4...with 2 beautiful baby boys! It is fun to look back at Cameron's pictures and compare features between the 2. I can see distinct similarities and differences in them...
What are your thoughts??

Sweet sunshine
Yesterday, we ventured out for a short walk and spent some time outside. It was so nice to be outside enjoying the sweet, sweet sunshine. Cameron had so much fun! He rode his tricycle for a while, searched for spiders and bugs in the grass, ran around, and found some very interesting glasses...as you can see from the pictures. The glasses are from Mr. Potato Head...Cameron found them in the garage and just had to wear them. Haha! Owen enjoyed looking around and taking it all in with his big, bright eyes!
So far, our transition home has been good. Everyone is adjusting to our new addition to the house. Cameron is being so gentle and loving to Owen...and always has the cutest smile everytime he sees him. Owen is doing all the things expected of a newborn--eating nonstop, going through TONS of diapers, and sleeping all the time. He is doing okay at night...usually gets up every 2 hours or so. He LOVES being held and cuddled....even at 3 in the morning :)

Cameron meets Owen...at the hospital
Cameron came to visit the hospital the day after Owen was born. As you can see from the pictures, he did not know what to think. He had just woken up from nap, so he was a little grumpy anyway...but when you add not seeing Mommy for 2 days, being in a hospital for the first time ever, and the newness of the baby together...the visit didn't go as planned. He was very curious and wanted to look at Owen, but did not want to hold him...did not want Mommy to hug or kiss him...and only wanted his PaPaw :) Ryan and I took him for a walk...just the 3 of us...and played with him for a bit and he loved every minute. :)
Since we have been home, he is still very curious about Owen...watches him all the time...and loves to be a helper to Mommy. I cannot wait to watch their relationship continue to grow :)

Owen Michael has arrived!
Wow, what a weekend! Owen decided to make his entrance 3 weeks early! He held out just long enough for Mommy to finish National Board assessments.
How it all played out:
I woke up around 3am on Thursday the 27th with feelings of a stomach virus coming on. I was up and down most of the night, only to head to my National Board exam at 6:00 the next morning. I STRUGGLED to make it through the exam with feelings of a stomach virus and inconsistent...very uncomfortable...contractions for most of the test. After making it through the entire exam, I headed home and STRAIGHT to bed. After laying down for a few hours, the contractions started to get very intense and closer together. I called the doctor and without hesitation he sent us to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital around 7:00pm. At that time I was already 4cm and 100% effaced. After 1 hour there, they check again to find that I was progressing VERY quickly...at 7cm and the head had dropped into position. At this point, things started to get very hectic and crazy. The quickly put my IV in and began fluids....only for me to find out it was too late for an epidural. YIKES! Within 15 minutes I was pushing...with my doctor 10 minutes away. As soon as the doctor arrived, we were full into the pushing process of welcoming the baby to the world. After a few minutes, he realized that my placenta has began to tear away and that Owen was "sunny-side-up," so back to the OR we went. In minutes, I was put under and welcomed Owen to the world :) Even though it isn't the most pleasant birth/labor/delivery, we are all healthy...so that's all that matters! Weighing in at 5 lbs, 8ozs and 17 1/2 inches he is our little peanut....but perfect in every way! :)
