So, at a recent trip to Target we let Cameron pick out things he wanted for his birthday. We explained to him that he could not have everything, but that he could give us his wish list. We also told him we would share this list with all the many wonderful grandparents in his life. Again, do not feel obligated to buy anything on this list...or anything else for that matter :) Just wanted to share Cameron's ideas. He is really getting into his birthday this year...and is understanding the whole idea of his birthday and gifts more than ever. What in the world is Christmas going to be like ;) :)

Buzz, Woody, and Jesse

By far, 3 of Cameron's favorite toys lately. He carries and plays with these toys all over the house. With his upcoming birthday, I have been telling him everytime he asks for something that "maybe he can have that for his birthday." At a recent trip to Target, he informed me that he "needed" Slinky, the Aliens, and Rex to complete his set, "like the movie Mommy," he said. Haha...he also asked for every other toy in Target. Haha--gotta love toddlers ;)

Zoo!!!

We braved the heat with 3 toddlers and a newborn in tow to go visit the National Zoo last weekend. It was a hot trip, but worth every minute. The kids LOVED the animals. We are hoping to plan another trip when the weather is much cooler...maybe sometime in the Fall. Most of the animals were out and moving around in the morning. As the day went on, the animals became a little more lazy...but we still had fun..with ice cream treats and water mist through the park.

Here are most of the animals we saw while we are there. Although I do not have a close-up picture of Cameron's favorite: a COW. Yes, I said it: COW. His favorite animal of the day was a cow. I didn't get a good shot of the cow b/c I honestly didn't think it was that big of a deal. Guess we will be heading to a farm this fall :)

Cameron was on a mission all day. He loved running from exhibit to exhibit to see what he could find next. I just loved watching his facial expressions as he discovered each animal. He truly is an animal lover!

Sweet, sweet Elizabeth and Aliyah had a blast! :)

These are the only pictures I got from the Kids Farm at the Zoo, which is where Cameron fell in love with the cows. This was our last stop of the day with a VERY tired Cameron on our hands, so there was no time for taking pictures :)

Cameron was asleep before we left the parking lot at the Zoo...then was exhausted when we got home. He laid around for the rest of the evening and went to bed extra early that night. What a fun day we had!! :)

Some of my favorites from the day...

Ice cream time!

Of course we had to take the 3 stooges to get ice cream! It sure was yummy. Everyone enjoyed ice cream--along with being able to run around and jump in the grassy area near the ice cream shop. Fun trip for everyone :) Of course, Owen slept through the whole thing ;)

My favorite of the evening :) They are just SOOO cute together!

The 3 Stooges :)

I just LOVE these pictures of Cameron, Elizabeth, and Aliyah...or as Cameron says "Lisbef and Liyah"! They are too cute together and they love playing and being around each other. Hope to see you guys again soon!

Slip-n-slide time!

Cameron LOVES his new slip-n-slide. He could slip and slide for hours! He goes down on his back, his bottom, and of course his tummy...with giggles the entire time! He just loves it! :) I love all the expressions on his face in these pictures, too cute!

"Elizabeth & Aliyah"

Cameron's cousins Elizabeth and Aliyah came to visit this past weekend. Elizabeth's birthday was a few weeks ago, so naturally we had to go shopping for a bday present. Cameron helped me pick it out. In this picture, Cameron is telling me that the princesses are "Elizabeth and Aliyah." I might add that he picked Snow White with black hair to be Elizabeth and Cinderella to be Aliyah ;)

Bedtime stories....

We read with Cameron every night before bed. Last night he wanted to read more books after we had finished...which in reality was just a scheme to keep his light on. So, I told him he could keep the light on as long as he stayed IN his bed and read books. When I went to bed...4 hours later....I went to his room to check on him and turn the light off. This is what I found: Cameron with about 30 books on his bed pulled up from his book shelf. Silly boy! Guess we know that someone likes to read....or pretend they like to read in order to delay their bedtime as much as possible :)

Birthday

Much to my disbelief, Cameron's 3rd birthday is just around the corner. Wow how time flies! For this year, we aren't doing a traditional birthday party here at our house. Instead, we are celebrating by taking Cameron on a fun weekend trip :) I am compiled a collage of Cameron's likes, wants, and interest to assist anyone with gift buying if needed :) Please do not feel obiligated to buy him anything--he has plenty--just trying to provide ideas as people are starting to ask what he is "into this year." Hope this helps!

Cameron loves:
-pretend play items (doctor kits, vet kits, grocery store items, playdough, etc.)
-art/messy play
-building towers and blocks
-outdoor play
-riding toys...we think he is finally ready to graduate to a big boy bicycle!
-interlocking puzzles and games
-books...as always! (subjects he is interested in: animals, insects, and trains)
-He still loves Thomas the train & Toy Story :)

Cameron needs:
-Pajamas
-Fall clothes (4T shirts, 3T bottoms, size 9 shoe)

Dr. Cameron

Cameron is really into pretend play these days. He loves playing doctor, house, teacher....basically anything you can think of. We have set up a mini Harris Teeter in the basement in his playhouse and he just loves it. Here he is playing doctor to his animals. He was telling his animals if they took their medicine first, they could have a cookie. Too cute :)

I couldn't resist!

I'm sure this is going to fall in the album of pictures that Cameron will HATE me for when he gets older, but I COULD NOT resist!

Such a great helper!

Cameron just loves to help out with Owen any chance he can get: getting the pacifier, helping with diapers, toys, and even helping with feeding him and holding his bottle.

All this playing makes a big boy tired...especially when it's almost 10:00 at night!

Cameron has been wanting to stay awake later and later lately. He wants to play in his room before going to sleep, which on this night ended up with a sleeping baby on the floor. :)

Some of my favorites of the week...

I just love both of their expressions in this picture...PERFECT! :)

He was pretending to type saying "I do it like Daddy" as he reminded me :)

Big smiles from the Thomas tent :)

Such a cutie :)

Woody & Buzz have arrived!

Woody and Buzz have arrived at the Bauss household with many thanks to Nana Bauss. Cameron couldn't believe it...he was sooo happy and at a loss for words as Nana helped him open the boxes. He takes them everywhere & they do everything from cleaning & cooking to going potty and to time out :) Thank you Nana!!
