We enjoyed Cameron's 1st Christmas in North Carolina with lots of family, presents, and fun! It goes without saying that our little guy was showered with gifts from Santa, grandparents, and other family. Our living room looks like a mini Toys R Us right now!! :) He can't wait to get home and play with all his new toys. Although he needed a little help from Mommy & Daddy, Cameron helped open presents ripping right through the paper....accompanied by laughter, giggling, and lots of talking. We'll post video and more pictures of Christmas soon....

Ripping right through the wrapping paper....giving us all that adorable "talking" to go with it!

Cameron playing with his new baby piano....one of his favorites!

Check out that concentration!!

Cameron VERSUS rice cereal

Well, our little guy had his first taste of rice cereal. He wasn't sure that he liked it, but enjoyed using the spoon to "feed" himself. Although, we aren't giving the cereal to him on a daily basis yet...he has started to enjoy the times we are giving him a little taste. He basically throws his entire body forward towards the spoon when he sees it. It is ADORABLE. The pictures show Cameron doing his best to use the spoon and feed himself. The other is a post-cereal feeding from another meal. So, in the battle of Cameron VS. rice cereal...who do you think the winner is?

Cameron's 1st Thanksgiving & 1st trip to the beach...

We all enjoyed Cameron's 1st Thanksgiving with a trip to Florida. We were all dreading the 12 hour drive, but it actually wasn't that bad. Cameron slept most of the way...and mommy got to take a much needed nap as well. Daddy was a trooper and drove the whole time!

We had a very busy and fun-filled 4 days with Grandma & Grandpa Bauss. Cameron got to meet all Bauss family members and 2 more of his Great Grandmothers (Ryan's Nana & his Grandma) and aunt Michelle. We also made a trip to the beach, ate toooo much yummy food, and spent lots of time with family. We didn't get to visit Nana Bauss, but we will see her again soon. We are planning another visit to spend some time with her.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Bauss' house with the whole family. Cameron decided to take a 3 hour nap, so he slept straight through dinner and dessert. I guess technically he missed his 1st Thanksgiving dinner, but we had such a busy day he was very sleepy boy. Hard to believe that next year, Cameron will get his very own taste of turkey! :)
Friday was a lazy day around the house. We just hung out, went to dinner, and watched a movie. Relaxing day with lots of quality time!

Saturday was another big day! We took Cameron to the beach for the very first time and he LOVED it. He was full of smiles and giggles the whole time we were there. We can't wait to go back...hopefully next time he'll be able to move around a little on his own. Check out that adorable smile!! He's definitely a heartbreaker! :) He was very curious about the sand and water....very alert as always, taking it all in ..... not to mention he LOVED the wind.

We decided to leave Saturday afternoon to make the long trip home. We didn't want to do the whole drive in one day, so we stopped to see Grandpa & Grandpa Staines so we could break the trip up a little bit! We enjoyed time our time with them...although it was very short.
Well, that about sums up little Cameron's 1st Thanksgiving! Fun trip with lots of great memories!
Until next time...

2 month highlights & doctor's visit......

Well, we had Cameron's 2 month check-up on October 29th at the pediatrician's office. The pictures included are his 2 month b-day pics...taken on 10/23. Aside from Cameron's first shots, it was a happy, stress free visit. He weighed in at 15lbs. and measured 25 inches long, both in the 90th percentile for his age. In other words, he is a healthy happy baby. At first I was worried, thinking maybe he had been eating too much. However, the peditrician was happy with his overall measurements, his sweet little temperament, and his stout little body and she told me not to worry about his weight. Her exact quote was, "A fat, healthy baby is a HAPPY baby." She is exactly right...Cameron is as happy as can be, until he has to wait more than a second for his food! :)

He did a great job with his shots....in fact he did much better than Mommy. He only cried while he was laying on the table....he stopped about 30 seconds after I could pick him up & comfort him. Meanwhile, Mommy had a a few lingering tears. He's a little trooper! We have our next round of shots at the 4 month check up, so wish us luck that he'll do just as good as he did this time.

Other updates and happenings....

Cameron has found his hands/thumb and he LOVES it, as you can see from the picture! He is just adorable holding them in his mouth with droll going all over the place! Also, he is also showing more interest in some of his toys by reaching for them, holding them with a tight grip, and bringing them to his mouth. He just loves his Glow-worm...it's becoming his favorite toy, he smiles and coos at it as long as it's in his sights!

Cameron's 1st Halloween!

Well, needless to say little Cameron is just a weeeeeee bit young to understand the whole concept of Halloween. However, mommy decided she would buy a cute little costume and dress him up anyway....just to have adorable pictures to show off. I also thought it might be a good idea to get Sadie a cute little costume, dress them both up, and send Halloween cards to all our friends and family. As you all know from reading this, that definitely DID NOT HAPPEN! :) Cameron H-A-T-E-D the idea of the pumpkin costume at first and would fuss and cry the whole time the costume was on. I'm not sure why...it was basically a sleeper with a jack-o-latern face on the front. And Sadie would practically act as if her Halloween costume paralyzed her entire body. She would literally stand perfectly still...not moving an inch while her costume was on....imagine that!? Anyway, after several attempts to get a few pictures of Cameron's first Halloween I managed to get a few cute snapshots.....some of Cameron and some of Cameron and Sadie together. Maybe next Halloween will be a little more exciting for all of us! :)
